Research results published in international journals and international authorizations
Leeuwenhoek's R&D team is led by company founder and Professor Xu Chengzhi of the Department of Chemistry at National Taiwan University. Together with the team of President Wu Mingxian of National Taiwan University Hospital, they have invested in the research of intestinal probiotic metabolites and analyzed the two key factors of intestinal bacteria health: one is whether the intestinal bacteria can successfully "live" in the intestines, and the other is whether the intestinal bacteria produce active metabolites to make the intestines "move". The team used high-resolution mass spectrometry to identify active molecules produced by key bacteria in the intestines, and then used dietary supplements of litchi polyphenols and specific amino acids to produce beneficial metabolites. The research results have been published in the internationally renowned intestinal microbiome journal "Gut Microbes", showing that in the animal model, body weight and visceral fat have decreased significantly, and metabolic disease indicators have also been significantly improved.
Leeuwenhoek has also set its sights on the global weight loss market and is optimistic about the development potential of the next-generation intestinal probiotic "Akkermansia muciniphila (AKK bacteria)". On June 18, it announced a strategic partnership with the leading healthcare product OEM "Shengzhan" and signed a licensing contract to jointly develop Asia's first "Next-generation intestinal probiotics (AKK bacteria)" product and enter the international market. The collaboration between Leeuwenhoek and Bio-Development has enabled Taiwan to take an international leading position in the research and development, production, manufacturing and sales of next-generation intestinal probiotics, which is of great significance.
The rising star of technology formula licensing is highly anticipated
Professor Xu Chengzhi, CEO of Leeuwenhoek, emphasized that research has shown that intestinal commensal bacteria play a key role in regulating diseases such as immunity, metabolism, cancer, aging and the gut-brain axis, and used his own weight loss results to illustrate the specific effectiveness of the intestinal flora.
