The Taiwan Society of Mass Spectrometry held the 19th Taiwan Mass Spectrometry Annual Conference and Academic Seminar at the Splendor Hotel in Taichung from July 4 to 6, 2023. The Taiwan Mass Spectrometry Annual Conference and Academic Symposium is the largest mass spectrometry event in the country. It aims to promote research and application progress in the field of mass spectrometry by sharing the latest results in instrument technology, method development and application research. Leeuwenhoek has been committed to keeping pace with the international mass spectrometry technology since its inception. We are fully aware that it is vital to keep up with the latest scientific knowledge and technology in this rapidly developing field. Therefore, Leeuwenhoek has been actively participating in mass spectrometry events at home and abroad, exploring the latest research discoveries and innovative applications with leading experts and scientists, and establishing close partnerships with leading international research institutions and academic institutions.
As a pioneer in academia and a rising star in the industry, as well as a director of the Taiwan Society of Mass Spectrometry, Associate Professor Cheng-Chih Hsu, founder of Leeuwenhoek, will share their professional knowledge and entrepreneurial experience at this important occasion, while communicating and cooperating with other professionals in the mass spectrometry community.

In addition, Leeuwenhoek Assistant Researcher also posted a research poster at the meeting, conducting an in-depth application analysis of the untargeted metabolomics analysis currently provided by Leeuwenhoek (as shown in Figure 2). This poster demonstrates the integrity and reproducibility of Leeuwenhoek's analytical platform, including sample preparation automation (to avoid errors caused by different human operators) and method optimization. At the same time, in this study, we also disclosed for the first time the current status of the construction of the standard metabolite library (accumulated to more than 400 standards) to improve the accuracy of metabolite identification (comparison of three dimensions: precise mass, fragmentation spectrum, and column retention time) and overcome the problems in the comparison of small molecule isomers. In order to achieve more accurate service quality, Leeuwenhoek's standard product database is still being expanded. We hope that this service can help experts and scholars at home and abroad who are studying metabolomics.
